Tip assembly is similar for both French and German tips. First the spring is placed inside the barrel, followed by the tip itself. The major difference is that for the French tip, the screw holes must be lined up on the ring on the tip and on the barrel. For the German tip, you do not need to worry about alignment, since it has an indented ring that can accept screws on any side. Holding the tip in, against the pressure of the spring, screw in the the tip screws, making sure that the tip is still able to move up and down under pressure. | German Tip |
